Two men play one of the most beautiful versions of “Amazing Grace” recorded
Every once in a while, a musical rendition comes along that takes our breaths away.
It surpasses all expectations and becomes one of our favorite pieces of art that we have either seen or heard.
Musical covers and renditions are nothing new.
Thanks to social media and video-sharing platforms, people from all over the world can share their creativity and talents with just a click of a button.
That’s pretty fascinating considering all of the amazing hidden talent out there. People and their art are getting discovered every day.
Wuauquikuna is a folklore musical duo from Ecuador. For over 16 years they have traveled all across Europe sharing their history and talents with others.
The group was founded by brothers, Luis and Fabian. Their name, Wuauquikuna, translates to “brothers” in English.
The duo has recorded 11 CDs and one DVD that are a mixture of both northern and southern American culture.
Their website states:
“We are representing the prophecies from our elders and it is related to join together two cultures just like the Eagle from the North and the Condor from the South are sharing the same sky.
It will be our future when people from all tribes and cultures come together as one.”
The group uses YouTube to keep fans entertained between projects and to reach those from all over the world.
They have put up impressive numbers on their page. Currently, they have over 280,000 subscribers and several videos as they upload frequently.
Though the group typically plays traditional folklore music, they sometimes play music from other genres.
For example, they played a cover of Celine Dion’s, “The Power of Love” and Andrea Bocelli’s, “Time to Say Goodbye.”
Recently, they covered the well-known song, “Amazing Grace.” What makes their covers so unique and beautiful are the instruments they use.
They play using traditional instruments from their culture like the pan flute and the quenacho.
It results in a sound wholly their own as it stands out from the several, more traditional, covers of these popular songs.
In their cover they use all sorts of instruments. One is a seashell shaker that makes a beautiful calming sound. Another is a sort of whistle that sounds similar to a bird call.
Another sounds like the purest pebbles have been put in a tube that creates a heavenly sound when tilted
If you’re looking for some calming and relaxing music, look no further.
The brothers appear just as relaxed as they sound. They handle the instruments with care and ease.
Both play various different instruments throughout, knowing exactly which one to use to create the sound they want.
The comments from the viewers show that the talents of these two brothers don’t go unnoticed.
“This is just what I need now: to see your kind eyes and to hear your relaxing Music, which is so pleasant. Today I had a very Hard Day., very Hard… And now I’m having a rest watching your video. You are my joy, dear Fabian and Luis.”
