Blind-deaf dog separated from owner recognizes him right away in sweet reunion video

She missed him so much.

Steve Kristal wasn’t quite sure what he and his family were in store for when his daughter Hayden Kristal brought home a 5-week-old deaf and blind puppy.

How would she get around? What would her quality of life be like?
These are all questions that ran through his mind.

But his concerns for Bitsy soon melted away when he saw the spunk inside of her.

Bitsy was bursting with energy.

And despite not being able to hear or see, she was a super cheerful pup.

“She has been her own woman since day one,” Hayden said.

As soon as Bitsy got to her new home, she knew exactly where her food bowl was.

She climbed into it and ate until she fell asleep.

Ever since then, you would barely know that Bitsy was hearing and visually impaired.

She and her mom love traveling the U.S. to go biking, canoeing, skateboarding, or for a ride on the subway.

“Bitsy is the sweetest, friendliest, most loving and loyal dog in the world,” Hayden said. “She is bold and sassy and she loves adventure!”

Steve is absolutely obsessed with his granddog.

Kristal says Bitsy is her dad’s “number one fan and biggest champion.”

He talks about her to anyone who will listen.

Steve loves being a grandpa and ensuring Bitsy is showered with treats and toys.

And Bitsy loves her granddad just as much.

She loves being close to him.

So, it was difficult for Bitsy and her mom to be separated from Steve during the pandemic.

Steven was upset that Bitsy might not remember him after being separated for so long.

They hadn’t seen each other for an entire year.

But that definitely wasn’t the case.

“As soon as I got within scent range, she totally lost her mind with joy,” Steve wrote in a Facebook post. “So did I.”

Bitsy lept up on Steve and excitedly wagged her tail as she covered him in kisses.

She wouldn’t stop jumping on him and happily started barking at him.

Then she did a little happy dance and ran around a bit, celebrating with the other dog that was there.

Steve said this was just another example of how Bitsy’s “abilities are far more impressive than the ones she’s missing.”

Steve says that Bitsy has a special soul and that he and Bitsy truly love each other.

Their reunion after the pandemic was captured on video and posted online. That video went viral and was shared all across the internet.

It was viewed more than 34,000 times on T&T Creative Media’s YouTube page.

Despite spending a year apart, Bitsy remembers exactly how much she loves her granddad.

According to the Canine Bible, dogs are able to remember people by what they look like, their scent, and their sound. But we think Bitsy remembered Steve because of her heart.
