Not only is she super talented, but it’s obvious she’s loving every moment of it.
Just because you’re an average adult, doesn’t mean you can’t still be a showstopper. Jocelyn Delmar is a figure skater who’s living proof of this.
After all, she doesn’t just glide around on the ice during open skate nights – she actually participates in competitions and dazzles crowds.
Here she is at the US Adult Championships skating to Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass.”
The woman’s confident grin says it all.
Delmar loves being on the ice, and the music just adds to that vibrant mood as she begins her routine to the cheers of her audience. It’s obvious they know from the start that they’re in for a real treat.
No, she’s not like those pros who seem to glide on air and hit unbelievable jumps and spins but Delmar is out there doing what she loves. The ice may be cold but her smile is warm.

“OMG having just taken up figure skating at 43 and having a very similar figure to this rock star I nearly broke my ribcage from all the joy and insperation I felt watching that! Also, purple! Yes girl!”
Once you see her in action, it’ll be clear why she deserves nothing but praise.
Figure skating goes way back, way earlier than ball sports. Britannica provides insight into the sport’s history.
“A Treatise on Skating (1772) by Robert Jones, an Englishman, is apparently the first account of figure skating. The sport had a cramped and formal style until American Jackson Haines introduced his free and expressive techniques based on dance movement in the mid-1860s. Although popular in Europe, Haines’s style (called the International style) did not catch on in the United States until long after he had died at the age of 35.”
It’s like they knew they could have fun on ice.
“In the early 20th century, Americans Irving Brokaw and George H. Browne helped formalize the style created by Haines by demonstrating it to American audiences. Brokaw, the first American to represent the country at international competitions, participated in the 1908 Olympics, where he finished sixth. Browne, who organized the first U.S. championships in 1914 for men, women, and pairs, wrote two important books on skating and was involved in the establishment of a national skating organization.”

It even seems like she joined just for the sake of skating and experiencing the competition atmosphere.
Delmar seems to be having a blast out on the ice (and we don’t blame her).
Jocelyn doesn’t shy away from doing what she loves. Though she may experience jitters like even professionals might, she gets up and still skates her heart out.
It’s skaters like her that make sure the sport stays. Kids everywhere will see that one doesn’t need to be a total expert to rock a competition. By combining hard work, skills, and a good attitude – the crowd will surely be dazzled.
