Bus driver sees sibling’s treatment to boy and writes note to parents

  • by

We teach our children manners and to treat others with kindness. Then, when we send them out into the world – our hope is that they remember the lessons they learned at home.

One set of New Jersey parents found out how their children were behaving, thanks to a note from the school bus driver. What she had to say took the internet by storm.

Cindy Clausen has been driving buses for the Princeton school district for over 20 years. So naturally, she’s transported a lot of young passengers during her career.

There were several students, in particular, that caught Clausen’s attention.

Siblings Annaliese and Jorge would ride her bus each day and interact with another student, Jaxson, who has a hard time walking because of a medical condition.

Clausen took notice of how they treated the boy and wanted to let their parents know what she’d been witnessing.

If a parent were to open their child’s backpack and discover a letter from their school – it could indicate there was some naughty behavior.

But in this case, it was different.

Clausen had typed up a letter for Annaliese and Jorge’s mom and dad that began:

“I am compelled to write to tell you how beautiful your children are, inside and out! This can only come from the home, your patience and guidance, the examples that you set and teach.”

If those words aren’t cherishable enough, Clausen then went into some details about the bus rides.

She explained:

“I have a child on my bus named Jaxson. Both of your children have shown him much compassion and support. Every day your children ask if they can sit with Jaxson.”

The siblings would help brighten their seven-year-old classmate’s day.

In the letter, Clausen continues:

“Some days Jaxson is a little sad getting on the bus but as soon as he sees Annaliese and Jorge he smiles. Jaxson has difficulties walking and it takes a bit for him to get to his seat.”

Clausen decided to share a couple of sweet moments that she witnessed that day.

“Today Annaliese looked out from around her seat and said, ‘come on Jaxson, you can do it’ and when we arrived at school Jorge took it upon himself to carry out his backpack!”

She closed it by beautifully saying:

“I know you know how wonderful your children are, but I wanted you to know that it shows! Cindy Clausen Bus #50”

After the letter was shared with Love What Matters it went viral.

As of now, their Facebook post has tens of thousands of “likes,” with many people praising the mom and dad for their excellent parenting. Clausen too has received positive comments for taking the time to write the letter.

One user wrote:

“I love that she did this and kudos to the parents! The world will be a much better place when more people are like the driver and the parents!”

Jaxson’s mother, Belmax De Jesus, shared her thoughts about the children and their inspiring behavior.

She told Chasing News:

“I look at them as angels because it’s like, how do they know how to be so compassionate and so kind … it’s so pure and genuine. I’m also very grateful for the parents because clearly they’re doing something right. For their kids to be so open and loving, that is definitely stemming from the home.”
