Dog who can’t keep paws to herself makes habit of “petting” other dogs at daycare

No dog goes un-pawed when Ruby’s around, no matter what breed they are. 🐶🥰

What is your first reaction whenever you see a dog?

Do you gush and aww and make a move to pet them? Anyone who loves dogs has that initial reaction almost every time they see one.

It’s so hard to resist these wonderfully friendly and adorable dogs.

Sometimes, dogs can’t even resist themselves.

When they see other dogs, they can’t help but pet them to say hi. Do you find that hard to believe?

Take a look at Ruby and Miles.

Ruby and her brother Miles are German Shorthaired Pointer (GSP) dogs who are both “regulars” at The Den Doggy Daycare in Ontario, Canada.

At the daycare, there is one thing Ruby does to every dog she meets.

She always lays her paw on them.

It’s like her way of saying “hi”. The other dogs seem confused but no harm is done so they just let it be.

One of the staff members who also brings her dog to the daycare, Alanah Lorraine, noticed Ruby’s behavior regularly.

“She does it every time she is in. Most dogs aren’t bothered by it and just let it happen,” Alanah told The Dodo. “We think she wants attention!”

Because Ruby does this gesture all the time, Alanah’s videos of Ruby began to pile up.

That’s when she decided to compile the clips together and post the compiled video on her TikTok account. Alanah thought it was just too adorable not to be shared.

She had no idea it would go viral.

Since posting, the video has been viewed more than 1.4 million times and received more than 320k likes and 2500 comments.

So many of the people who watched the video and loved the way Ruby made friends.

Some of them want to be Ruby’s friend, too, and be pawed by Ruby, like the other dogs.

Needless to say, Ruby has fans.

Ruby is just being a GSP.

It turns out this is normal behavior for German Shorthaired Pointer dogs.

GSPs are very affectionate dogs and they love to play. Plus they have high energy levels and are very sociable dogs.

When you think about it, this is definitely normal behavior for Ruby.

One of the comments in the video said that maybe Ruby was telling the dogs they were a good boy or a good girl. That would be so funny now, wouldn’t it?

GSPs are also highly trainable.

So, there is a strong possibility Ruby does this because she’s seen it from her human.

It’s also probably why her humans have placed her in doggy daycare during the day, most likely while her humans are at work.

GSPs need to have a place where they can burn off their high levels of energy, preferably with other dogs.

The daycare is perfect for it.

Plus it looks like The Den Doggy Daycare cares so much for dogs and they know how to take care of the dogs according to their personalities.

The dogs are definitely in good hands.
