Emotional Reunion: Army Veteran Reunites with Beloved K9 Partner After 2 Years Apart

  • by

Dogs are known for their unwavering loyalty and affection, making them the perfect companions for soldiers on dangerous missions.

This bond between dog and handler is unbreakable and can withstand the toughest of circumstances.

One such story is about a chocolate Labrador Retriever named Cila and her handler, US Army veteran Jason Bos.

Cila and Bos were paired together as an explosive detection team and quickly formed a strong bond despite Cila’s initial reluctance to listen to anyone.

They went on to complete over 100 missions in Iraq, including high-stakes missions for the President and Vice President, as well as providing security at the Democratic National Convention and United Nations General Assembly.

However, in 2012, their time together came to an end when Bos was injured and had to leave the military.

For years, Bos was unsure if he would ever see Cila again. He often thought about her and the bond they shared, but with no leads, he feared that he may never be reunited with his faithful companion.

But then, one day, Bos saw a Facebook post that changed everything. The post stated that Cila was due to retire and could be adopted by her former handler.

Bos jumped at the opportunity and with the help of the American Humane Association and Mission K9 Rescue, he was able to bring Cila back home to Michigan.

The 9-hour flight was a long one for Bos, but as soon as Cila stepped off the plane, she quickly recognized her former handler and showered him with love and affection.

Bos was overjoyed to have Cila back by his side and the two have been inseparable ever since.

They now spend their days in retirement, enjoying the simple things in life such as lounging on the couch, playing with balls, receiving treats, and going on walks.

For Bos, Cila’s reunion means everything to him and he will always cherish the bond they share.

He is grateful for the opportunity to be reunited with his loyal companion and is grateful for the support he received from organizations such as the American Humane Association and Mission K9 Rescue.

Cila and Bos’s story is a testament to the power of the bond between a dog and their handler and the lengths that people will go to in order to be reunited with their beloved companion.
