Heartwarming Moment: Young Daughter Surprises Father with Emotional Reunion at Homecoming Ceremony

This touching moment during a military homecoming ceremony left everyone in attendance with hearts full of warmth.

The unwavering love of a child knows no bounds, especially when it comes to reuniting with a loved one.

Little 2-year-old Karis Oglesby exemplified this when she interrupted an Army homecoming ceremony at Fort Carson, Colorado to give her dad a big hug.

Her father, First Lt. Daniel Oglesby, and his fellow soldiers had been away from their families for eight long months, serving their country and defending their fellow citizens.

But Karis couldn’t wait a moment longer to see her dad, who she hadn’t seen in eight months.

As the soldiers stood in formation, waiting for the superior to speak over the loudspeaker, Karis spotted her dad in the crowd and took off running.

With her arms outstretched, she bypassed protocol and a superior officer, making her way straight into her dad’s waiting arms.

Her father admitted that he had to decide whether it was “good practice” to break formation, but his love for his daughter won out and he gave her a big hug and kiss on her forehead.

The moment was captured by the local news and posted on Facebook, where it was viewed 5.1 million times and received an outpouring of positive comments.

Karis was overjoyed to see her dad and ran back to her mom, who scooped her up into her arms.

The reunion was a happy one, and it was made even sweeter by the fact that it was just in time for Karis’ third birthday.

This moment of pure love and joy showcases the importance of family and the sacrifices that military families make.

Despite the rules and protocols that must be followed, love knows no bounds, and for Karis, nothing was more important than embracing her dad after his long deployment.
