Helpful Fishermen Save Two Moose Calves From Drowning In The River

Even if we believe in letting nature take its course, sometimes, wild animals also need help from us to survive.

Several fishermen were paddling down the river when they saw a mother Moose looking concerned at her baby.

The mother moose was staring helplessly into the water from the riverbank, not knowing how to save her calf.

The calf was too young and too weak to climb up the steep riverbank, and the mother moose didn’t have a way to reach it as there was just a steep brush and nowhere for her to get a foothold.

The fishermen passed by and saw the situation, but they “decided it was best to let nature take its course by letting the momma help its young.” However, when they returned an hour later, the baby moose was still in the water and the mother moose was nowhere to be found so they decided to step in.

They carried the calf to dry land, and before finally going off to find his mom, the baby moose looked back at the fishermen who helped her.

Some other time, the fishermen saw another baby moose trapped between sharp rocks above the water.

The mother moose was with him earlier. However, she swam away and got out of the water, and left.

The fishermen helped the trapped baby moose get out of the water by lifting him off of the rocks and then carrying him toward the land.

When the two men let the baby moose go to find his family, he was obviously still scared and wanted to stay with his rescuers a little longer until he gathered enough courage to get by on his own.
