Miley Cyrus And Godmother Dolly Parton Slay NYE With A Mash-Up Of Their Most Iconic Songs

Miley Cyrus and her godmother, Dolly Parton, just gave us the best New Year's Eve gift.

The two icons performed together during the live NBC special Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party on Saturday, December 31. The icons were absolutely incredible together.

The two women cohosted the event and, in the final minutes of the show, brought down the house with “Wrecking Ball” followed by Parton’s “I Will Always Love You.”

Miley and Dolly have performed together in the past, but this show was really special. Fans couldn't have agreed more.

Shortly after the performance, social media users were quick to gush about the performance.

One Twitter user wrote, “Dolly Parton and Miley Cyrus singing I will always love you is exactly how I wanted to go into 2023.”

It wasn't just special for fans. It was special for the two performers, as well.

“I tell you, this is a thrill of my life to get to host the show with Miley,” Dolly said.

“We know how much I’ve loved her since she was a little ol’ bitty thing. Now she’s a big ol’ thing and I still love her. I will always love you.”

Miley agreed. “That’s how I feel about you, Aunt Dolly," she said. "To stand on this stage and bring in 2023 with my godmother and all of you here in Miami, it has been a privilege and a pleasure and we have just loved the time that we have gotten to spend together and you all brought us together closer than we’ve ever been before, so we’re grateful for that.”
