This young lady is one of the most skilled young skaters I have seen in my lifetime. Just wow!
Ice skating is one of the most majestic performances to watch.
The skater can spin, glide, and jump in ways you may not have thought possible.
And what’s great about the sport is that you don’t have to be an adult to get in on the action.
There are young ice skaters from all over the globe that have already mastered the ability to stun crowds with their amazing routines.
Take Veronica Zhilina for example.
At only 10 years old, Veronica skates at the level of someone who is three times her age.
The 10-year-old is from Moscow, Russia, and seems to be in her element when she is performing on the ice in front of large crowds.
In the video below, Veronica performs a jaw-dropping routine to the song “Hallelujah.”
To start, Veronica stands in the middle of the ice, waiting for the music to start.
When it does, she reveals something she had been holding in her hands–a light.
She raises it to the sky with arms outstretched.
Then she drops an arm, spins around, and shows it to the crowd behind her.
When she does, something beautiful takes place.
The rest of the crowd also has lights, and when she shines her light at them, they shine theirs back at her.
The lights wave back and forth in the dark arena, setting the stage for an emotionally-charged and heartfelt routine.
Veronica places the light on the ice and skates away from it as the song lyrics start to be sung.
She begins her routine with swinging arms and smooth spins as she glides over the ice.
Veronica doesn’t take long to wow the crowd with some displays of her incredible balance and flexibility.
She raises a leg up to her head and pulls it in tight.
Now, she is skating on one foot while doing the vertical splits.
The crowd shows their approval by breaking out into applause.
But Veronica has much more in store for the audience than just displays of flexibility.
She quickly moves into the first of many technical moves that involve her spinning around at high speeds while in the air.
Veronica picks up speed and launches herself into the air.
She tucks herself into a tight coil and spins so fast that you can’t even tell how many rotations she does before landing gracefully back onto the ice.
After landing this move, Veronica maintains her speed and glides around the ice rink, moving her body to the rhythm of the song and adding stunning visuals to an already beautiful song.
Veronica then leaps into the air and spins quickly and gracefully, just like before.
The crowd loves what they see and break out into applause once again.
As her routine ends, Veronica makes her way back to the center of the ice where she has left the light from the beginning of the routine.
She picks it up and spins around, moving her arms, legs, and head into various positions.
She comes out of the tight spin and raises the light into the air, ending her routine the same way it started.
